Environmental control plan ( ECP)
BCS, lda have a number of years experience in formulating and drawing up comprehensive, individually client tailored and project specific ECP’s for construction companies and developers for small to large projects, especially in the countryside.
An ECP for a company covers all of that company’s working aspects and methods for construction works ‘in the field’. It can be used by the groundworks staff, to the general foreman, through to contract and project managers to company directors.
It starts with the projects summary, company’s policy and management structure and responsibilities and goes on to cover the main Environmental Controls. Such as in areas around:
- Dust and Emissions
- Noise Control
- Site Waste Management Plans
- Chemicals (use and storage)
- Dewatering
- Silt Control
- Water Management
- Protection of Ecology
- Protection of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage
- Environmental Management and Training
- Working in or near Watercourses / Flood Protection
- Invasive Alien Species & Noxious Plants
- Emergency Procedures
- Environmental Plan Approval and Review
- Investigation/Incident Procedure
- Environmental Toolbox Talks
Who needs ECP?
In general, in the Installation License phase, of undertakings or activities that are potentially polluting or degrading to the environment.
For example, it is customary to require ECP from industries, water and sewage treatment systems, small and medium-sized companies, commercialization of waste, mineral extraction, among other types of potentially polluting productive activities.
